The “Innovation Think Tank” is a new initiative of the Murcia Science Park and the Instituto de Fomento of the Region of Murcia. It represents a meeting point for intellectuals, scientists, companies and managers of R+D+I support structures where active debate on innovation can take place.

WHAT IS A THINK TANK?
A think tank is an initiative which has already been set up in other countries. The idea is to bring together a group of researchers of a particular subject. The group adopts a position regarding the subject and exercises its influence on institutions, organizations or on society in general. Many think tanks exist for many subjects, such as economics, science, technology, business, politics or society.

WHY ON INNOVATION?
The Think Tank on Innovation in the Region of Murcia seeks to take part in the role of innovation in the Region of Murcia and among its inhabitants and also to extend its influence to the whole of Spain and abroad. Its final aim is to achieve a more competitive business network and a society which enjoys a better quality of life. The Think Tank will analyse the real overall situation of technology, the business world and society and it will open up forums for debate, for the presentation and sharing of ideas and opinions, and thus assume an active role in enabling innovation to become an aspect of maximum relevance in decision taking in institutions, organizations and amongst citizens.

The Think Tank be open to the whole of Murcia society. It will seek maximum transparency in its actions and to be as open and receptive as possible to citizens, experts and regional institutions alike, while enjoying national and international prestige. Devoid of any ideological biases, it s aim is to act in a plural, open and professional way to gain the attention, the dedication, the effort and the resources necessary for innovation to become a key player in making the economy and society of Murcia more dynamic. At the same time it will seek to become a point of reference outside the region through its prestigious, respected and highly considered opinion group in the decision making of organizations and institutions.
