The Murcia Science Park performs the role of a development element for companies of high technological level, so helping the growth of the new knowledge-based economy in the Region. Entry to the park means, therefore, that any applicant entity must demonstrate that it participates in public R+D+I programs, that its habitual activity includes R+D+I in its programs or that it is devoted to the provision of advanced technical services to companies in the park, and with an activity that is clearly one of development and management of knowledge.
Thus, institutions that are likely candidates for inclusion or installation in the park will be from among the following:
Public and private universities. These may include in the Park such research units of centres associated to them and their offices for transfer of research findings.
Public and private research bodies and Technological Centres which have their own legal standing.
Entities managing R+D+I programs.
Institutions, which have their own legal standing and which are non profit making, and which possess important, relevant content for the scientific and technical community.
Entities with their own legal standing which are devoted to commercial activity, and on condition that their installations situated within the Park include to a significant extent the development of R+D+I activities or directly support the same.
Companies or institutions with intensive R+D.R+D departments of large companies.
Small and medium size innovative companies, which will be able to carry out their activity within the Park, as long as this includes R+D.
Joint R+D activities carried out by various companies within a sectorial Association or other type of organization.
Spin-off businesses, recently created and in some cases generated by University graduates or lecturers, which may be from a company greenhouse or incubator.
Large firms, R+D leaders, hich can serve as an example to encourage further investments, provided that they would be willing to situate a significant part of their innovative activities within the Park.
Companies or institutions which offer their business innovation services to customers inside or outside the Park in the following two areas:
Technical services related to quality control, industrial design, homologation, technology transfer, creation of technology based businesses, patents and certifications.
Services relates to business innovation , and not necessarily in technological areas, such as R+D+I assessment and consultancy, finance e.g. venture capital and seed capital, human resource management in innovation and business intelligence techniques.
